Top Shop Picks!
Well, there are several reasons why these shops are some of our top, and with these shops, we all have something in common. These quilt shops are some of our 12 who participated in the 2008 Winter Patchwork Party. Patchwork Party first began in 2006 and has been going semi annually ever since. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Patchwork party, you can visit each of our top shops or visit the official site at www.patchworkparty2008.com. We thought we would let the shops reintroduce themselves to you here. You will see why they are our favorites!

Just picture it…It is a chilly winter morning, and the snow is quietly falling outside the window glinting and twinkling on the surface as the sun still manages to break through. One can only stand still in awe as the morning rises. My name is Rose Wojnar and it is the dawn of another day at EverythingQuilts.com located in the foothills of the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Colorado. With the start of each day, I try to take a few minutes and give gratitude for so much that is good in my life. With the wonderful support of my family, staff and customers, we opened EverythingQuilts.com almost ten years ago. We specialize in 100+ quilt kits and our ever changing fabric selection featuring today’s most talented designers. Our customers love our sense of color and design and patterns and great customer service.

www.grandmasatticquilting.com, Dallas, Oregon
“When you open the screen door to our shop, we hope you will feel right at home,” says Rachel Greco, owner and founder of Grandma’s Attic. Named after her own Grandmother, Rachel’s love and respect for history is evident in every corner of the store. One side of the shop features beautiful 1930s and 40s era reproduction fabrics, with notions, patterns and decorative items that look like they’ve just stepped out of that time period. Farther inside the shop is another area dedicated to the 19th Century. A huge redwork and embroidery department features everything from historical needle arts to contemporary stitchery projects. Other areas of the shop feature contemporary Asian, Batik, Floral and Novelty fabrics—ready for you to use in your next quilting project. All of this is nestled is a small brick and mortar shop located in Dallas, Oregon, a town within the very heart of the Willamette Valley. The town has deep connections to the 19th Century pioneers of the American West and is at the end of the Applegate Trail, the southern counterpart to the old Oregon Trail. If you aren’t able to visit the shop in person, www.grandmasatticquilting.com offers you an opportunity to feel like you just stopped in for a visit. The online store allows you to access quilting needs and resources regardless of the particular time of day or place in your part of the world.
Grandma’s Attic takes pride in helping to pass on the unique traditions and special connections to history and family that only the fiber arts can convey. More personal than a diary, more durable than paper, these are the voices of our grandmothers that tie us to them and pull us forward to the future.

www.shabbyfabrics.com, Nine Mile Falls, Washington
Shabby Fabrics was started approximately 6 years ago under unique circumstances surrounding the events of 9-11. My husband and I were employed as pilots for United Airlines at the time and soon found ourselves unemployed as layoff notices were handed out to over 2100 pilots. It was a very scary time but after much contemplation and prayer, I felt God had a new plan for my life. With my love for crafting and fabrics and some business experience behind me, Shabby Fabrics was born. We cater primarily to the feminine style floral fabrics that seem rather difficult to find in local stores. We are customer focused trying to accommodate each person’s needs and requests whenever possible. Because God is the reason behind our success, we honor Him by including the Holy Cross within our website and company publications.
Truly, an inspiring story….

I’m staying with an old friend, Jen, here in the city, so I’m in good company. Jen is also a quilter, so she’s got the goods. Sewing machine, fabric, all my little heart will need!
