The winter and holiday season seems to start earlier and earlier every year, doesn’t it? I know it does here in our little ol’ town. The dollar store already has Christmas stuff coming out and Halloween is still 2 weeks away. Well, eventhough, like I’m sure most of you, I’ve been working on making Christmas gifts since last year. Ya know, there are a lot of free patterns out there and ideas that offer a lot of inspiration. Often you will find, that although you cannot purchase fabrics from manufacturers, they offer free patterns using their fabrics. So, you can print out your free pattern there and then come back by us and buy your fabric (wink, wink). United Notions and Robert Kaufman are great sources for free patterns, as well as our site.
Since, we’re talking about Christmas gifts, I just have to show you all these gorgeous new patterns & kits from Mount Redoubt Designs. If you love applique, their patterns are always beautiful and very intricate. This collection is called Majestic Splendor and Hoffman fabrics provided the fabrics for these kits. (Just FYI I’m pretty sure we got the last of these kits and the fabrics are no longer available). They feature bold colors and all three can be combined to make one larger wallhanging or just make them individually. They’re just too pretty, I had to share them with you all. I’m going to get one of each, even though there is that slight (huge *grin*) chance that they won’t get done this Christmas…. or Winter, for that matter.
Anything you find and wanna share or think we need to carry, please let us know! In the meantime, I’ll be searching too, and anxiously awaiting Deb’s return tomorrow to see what all they found at quilt market.
